STATEMENT
The process is devotional
I begin a painting
a meditation
and a communion occurs
It is my vision,
my hope
to reach the essence of what is at hand
I tap into a universal life force which expresses itself
Each painting contains two to five renditions
Sometimes one must dissolve to begin again
Until the outcome is realized
It would not be an exaggeration to say that this process is exhilarating
One feels so very much alive
and grateful
Susanna Stefanachi Macomb
It was Bill Moyers who asked Joseph Campbell,
"Who interprets divinity
inherent in nature for us today? Who are our shamans? Who interprets
unseen things for us?
Joseph Campbell answered, "It is the function of the artist
to do this."
*****
"The paintings have the presence of icons, begging to be touched"
Tom Wachunas, Downtown
"Like grand opera, Susanna Stefanachis painting fills
the
surrounding space with fertile lyricism."
Valerie Constantino, Art Consultant
